About - Wolf Design Jewelry

In spite of finding my creative streak at an early age (I was making accessories for my toy horses at 6), I refused to take any formal art classes in high school. My mother constantly reminds me of this lapse in good judgment, but I finally discovered my true calling when I found the bead store!!! Since my first trip inside that palace of pretty, shiny things, my life hasn't been the same. I started innocently enough by making a bracelet for my wedding. That quickly progressed into making a couple of things for friends. From there it snowballed into selling my wares at art fairs and then to shops and galleries.

I enjoy going to galleries, bead shows, flea markets or anywhere in which I can find unusual beads or creative stimulation. Most of the beads come from my annual February shopping expedition to the Gem Shows in Tucson, AZ (I carried over 50 pounds of beads back with me this year!) I combine those beauties with vintage beads I come across at antique stores or flea markets and my own hand-made elements to create my one of a kind jewelry.

Despite my initial reluctance to take any art classes, I am now constantly taking courses related to jewelry design including silver smithing, Precious Metal Clay and various off-loom weaving techniques. By incorporating these new techniques into my work, my jewelry is continually evolving.

I hope you enjoy browsing and if you decide to acquire one of my baubles, I sincerely hope you love it as much as I love creating it.
