Recent pieces, as you will see in my extensive gallery, are made from authentic African trade beads, which offer my customers a fresh, new, versatile look to compliment any outfit.
African BeadsI have started to use some handmade African beads in some of my designs. These colorful ceramic beads are handmade at a women's project near the foothills of the Kenyan mountains. The first beads were made there over twenty years ago by two women on the lawn of Isak Dinesen's coffee plantation - the focus of the movie "Out of Africa". MISSION of the women's project:The mission of the project is to provide and sustain employment for Kenyan women, who, in some cases, are the sole providers for their children and extended families. |
